OPENING
Blue Drift – What Flows Through Us explores water, microplastics and the connections between humans and the environment through art and science. Vila Vipolže and its park will come alive with light projections, sculptures, interactive and multimedia works by Slovenian and international artists, alongside scientific lectures and workshops.

At the mobile pop-up lab, visitors can try out the microplastics monitoring protocol and explore selected findings from scientific research.

16.30, Soča, Soča, Pure Daughter of the Mountains!, round table
“SOČA, PURE DAUGHTER OF THE MOUNTAINS!” explores waste and plastic pollution and their impact on the Soča River and its surrounding environment. Experts, artists and local stakeholders will discuss solutions for responsible waste management and the preservation of the Soča as clean and unspoiled natural heritage.

Through playful experiments and hands-on exploration, MikroLab takes visitors into the hidden world of waste and microplastics in water, revealing what normally remains out of sight.

From the heat of everyday summer life to a pirate legend and an unexpected intimacy, three films reveal an Istria beyond the postcard image.
The films will be screened with Slovenian subtitles, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers.
